Name

Allaria was one of the many ancient towns of Crete and it is believed that it was placed near the village of Stavromenos , Mylopotamos . The town was well known for its coins mostly those of the third and second century BC , as well as for some signs which refer to a treaty of friendship signed by Allaria and Paros , Teos and the king of Pergamos Evmenis the second.Its inhabitant was called according to the signs “Allariotis”.Allaria The city was free and independent and had the currencies of the head of Athena with a snake in the helmet and on the other hand the naked Hercules and the word “Allariotan”.

Villa Allaria is situated in a verdurous setting in Stavromenos , a tiny traditional settlement of Geropotamos Municipality , Rethymnon. It has renovated the house with much love, care and respect for the natural environment and human.Our intention is to offer to our visitor the famous Cretan hospitality and the possibility to wander round the paths of tradition, combined with the comforts of modern life. It is the ideal place to rest and relax and to take a walk in picturesque paths too.

Villa Allaria has got traditional housing built of stone the old one and the new one, separated by a big yard equipped with an old traditional stove.The old building is labeled as "preservable" and was renovated without any interventions to its architecture.
